This document recommends minimum requirements and guidelines forthe design and installation of new piping systems on productionplatforms located offshore. The maximum design pressure within thescope of this document is 10,000 psig and the temperature range is-20ºF to 650ºF. For applications outside these pressures andtemperatures. special consideration should be given to materialproperties (ductility, carbon migration, etc.). The recommendedpractices presented are based on years of experience in developingoil and gas leases. Practically all of the offshore experience hasbeen in hydrocarbon service free of hydrogen sulfide. However,recommendations based on extensive experience onshore are includedfor some acts of hydrocarbon service containing hydrogensulfide.
